Rooster Rojo launches ground-breaking innovation: Smoked Pineapple Tequila

Global producer and distributor of alcoholic beverages, Amber Beverage Group (ABG), has announced the global launch of its innovative new tequila variant with the launch of Rooster Rojo® Smoked Pineapple Tequila. The first markets to obtain this pineapple infused Anejo tequila are Australia, Germany, Russia, the UK, and the USA.

The premium product will be sold in both the on-trade and off-trade. It is anticipated this will offer consumers a new way of enjoying tequila and provide a fresh take for bartenders to create original cocktails. The global launch follows a soft launch to pilot the product which took place earlier this year. Rooster Rojo Smoked Pineapple has been welcomed by the trade to great acclaim, most recently at Bar Convent Berlin this month.

Rooster Rojo’s Master Distiller experimented with various pineapples and different roast levels for over a year until the perfect variety and smokiness was found. Rooster Rojo uses only Red Spanish Pineapples for this infusion due to the exceptional taste profile they provide. Blended with Rooster Rojo Anejo Tequila it gives an exceptional result: a smooth but subtle drink which can be enjoyed neat or on the rocks, or in various cocktails.

Using only 100% Blue Weber Agave, Rooster Rojo Tequila is produced in small batches at the very base of the Volćan de Tequila. Carefully crafted by the Fabrica de Tequilas Finos specialists and blended with water that is filtered through Mexican silver, Rooster Rojo is the first tequila to use this technique, resulting in an authentic and high-quality spirit. Rooster Rojo Smoked Pineapple Tequila is bottled at two different strengths: 40% ABV for the USA market and 38% ABV for the rest of the world.

Mantas Zlatkus, Global Brand Director of Rooster Rojo Tequila, said: “Hispanic-inspired beverages are becoming increasingly popular within the beverage industry’s flavour profiles and pineapple is one of the ‘hottest’ flavours on this list. With our novelty Smoked Pineapple tequila we tick two of these trend boxes.

“It is a unique offer to consumers. Something you have never tried before, but when you do, it leaves you satisfied and wanting for more. We expect to attract not only tequila enthusiasts but even wider audiences, who are open to experiment and who love new flavours. This is a journey into Mexico and the Caribbean: full of sunlight, full of passion, bringing the best of what these regions have to offer.”

The brand is owned by Amber Beverage Group (ABG), a rapidly growing global spirits company, whose products are found in millions of households and venues across the globe. ABG produces, bottles, markets, distributes, exports and retails a comprehensive range of beverages of which it owns more than 100 and is responsible for marketing and distributing around 1,300 third-party drinks brands, spanning everything from premium vodka and sparkling wines to speciality Mexican tequilas.
