Amber Beverage Group reports resilient full-year results

Global producer and distributor of alcoholic beverages, Amber Beverage Group (ABG) has published robust financial results exceeding EUR 30 million EBITDA and posting strong financials across the board. Careful revenue management has helped the Group to achieve net revenue of EUR 268.7 million, which is at the 2019 level, while volumes due to the global pandemic have decreased by 8.4%.

The latest ABG Annual Report for 2020 can be found here.

“Despite the pandemic, we have managed to exceed the EUR 30 million EBITDA. The financial performance, as always, was the result of the daily dedication and resilience of our teams and I’m thankful to all employees in more than 20 companies from production all the way through to retail,” said Jekaterina Stuģe, CEO, Amber Beverage Group.

“The growth of ABG has always been driven both by organic growth in our key markets and by the addition of new business opportunities. I’m really happy to see that despite the challenges in the industry ABG’s position in our core markets has strengthened in 2020.”

With the ambition for Moskovskaya® Vodka set to deliver 1 million 9L cases in the next five years, Moskovskaya has moved into the Hard Setzer category. The timing was perfect with the increase of at-home consumption and the single serve cans were a welcome addition to the portfolio. Hence the brand plans to keep expanding in the RTD range in 2021. During the last year, Moskovskaya has made a point of becoming a first-class e-commerce player, signing off a multi-country agency deal with Amazon.

In Tequila, the global company had a new brand joining the core brand line-up: KAH® Tequila. The new KAH packaging was launched in the USA and achieved over 3.1k 9Lcs in Q4 achieving immediate success. Moreover, ABG has finalised the purchase of its own agave fields, which obviously means that ABG’s tequila brands, including Rooster Rojo® tequila, KAH® Tequila and others, will only become more important for the company’s bottom line.

The continuous organic growth of Riga Black Balsam® is on track by growing its profitability base. In 2020 the Group launched Riga Black Balsam Chocolate and Mint and Riga Black Balsam XO adding two new successful line extensions to the brand. Last but not least, Riga Black Balsam entered the canned RTD segment with several successful new expressions.

Overall, ABG is continuing on its path towards its ambition to become a Top 10 spirits industry player globally. This will be achieved through smart brand building, active management of sales channels, expanding ABG e-ambition, further investment in innovation, focused work on efficiency and effectiveness programs and capturing new business opportunities.
